The region’s largest pump manufacturer and distributor is celebrating 100 years in business with the launch of its 100 for 100 campaign as a mark of its success.

Billingham based Tomlinson Hall has chosen a combination of 12 good causes that include giving back to local community projects and national and local charities, including the likes of the Salvation Army, Billingham South Community Primary School, and The James Cook University Hospital. Each month it will donate 100 sought after items.

This will include contributing gifts suitable for each chosen charity from 100 sleeping bags, through to 100 trauma teddies and 100 Easter Eggs.

And the campaign is launched on the back of one of the most successful years to date which has seen the company increase its sales by almost half a million, whilst also experience a significant uplift in export activity.

Speaking about its yearlong charitable campaign, Colin Simpson, Business Development Director at Tomlinson Hall said: “We are incredibly proud of our company heritage and as we head into our 100 year in business, we wanted to do mark this in a unique way, whilst also giving back to our local community and further afield.

“Through running this campaign on a monthly basis means that we celebrate this significant milestone each month and donate to several worthy charities.”

Now under the stewardship of a third generation Tomlinson, Tony Keville, the company is recognised across the globe as a leading pump distributor and has built incredibly strong relationships to be honoured as sole distributor in the UK for leading pumps including DEPA, ELRO and Richter.

As one of few companies to wholly manufacture a British Pump in the Liquivac® – a very innovative and niche pump that is exported across the globe – it has successfully positioned itself as the market leader in the manufacture of liquid ring, vacuum pump technology.

As a multi-award-winning business, the company has been named Pump Distributor of the Year at the Pump Industry Awards on multiple occasions, has previously been crowned as SME of the Year and Engineering Firm of the year at the NEPIC awards, as well as received a Small Business Award at the North East Business Award.

This strong business performance is coupled with an inherent culture with almost 60% of the company’s staff – currently standing at 27 – having been with Tomlinson Hall for over 10 years. Impressively, two team members have been with the business for over 40 years and a further four employees possess over 25 years of long service.

Colin said: “We are an ambitious business with a great team driving us forward. We are incredibly proud to be a local business operating across a global scale working with some of the largest brands in the world.

“As we head into our centenary year, we have an impressive sales pipeline coupled with exciting plans for our own innovative pump which is set to propel our Liquivac® brand even further.

“We have always been committed to giving back to the local community and this very much continues to form part of our CSR plans as we move forward.”

Most recently the company has joined forces with three of the world’s biggest investors in pump research and development to supply equipment to a training provider based in Stockton-on-Tees, NETA Training Group.

Established in 1919, Tomlinson Hall is a long-standing distributor of major industrial pump brands. The company also manufactures its Liquivac pump from its facilities in Billingham comprising two workshops on a 1.5-acre site. Providing a full end to end service from pump selection, supply and site visits right through to servicing and repairs, the company has worked with leading businesses across Europe, the Middle East, North America, South America and Asia.
