Billingham based pump distributor & manufacturer – Tomlinson Hall – is celebrating its 100th year in business with bumper sales figures and a charitable campaign that is benefitting hundreds of individuals across the region.

The Teesside firm – which was founded in 1919 by Alfred Tomlinson and Frank Hall – has grown exponentially from its humble beginnings operating from a single unit in Stockton to its current 1.5-acre site in Billingham.

The firm now boasts the accolade of being the sole UK distributor for many of the world’s leading industrial brands as well as being the manufacturer of its own disruptive and industry leading, innovative pump technology, the Liquivac®.

A founder member of the British Pump Manufacturer Association (BPMA) and now under the custodianship of third generation Tomlinson and MD, Tony Keville, the company has secured a number of award wins in its centenary year and is firmly positioning itself as the go to provider of cutting-edge pump technology.  Awards have included a Lifetime Achievement accolade together with awards for SME and Pump Distributor of the Year.

Speaking about the 100-year celebrations and the firm’s continued success, Business Development Director, Colin Simpson said: “We firmly believe our success is based on a number of factors; the outstanding knowledge and impressive technical capabilities of our team, first and foremost, combined with our passion for constant innovation and the fact that we are not tied to any one pump brand or technology.

“Working with global leaders that use only the very latest, industry leading technology means we can consistently provide our clients with the very best pump solutions tailored to their needs and which meet the requirements of their business and their industry.”

And to mark its success, Tomlinson Hall is celebrating its 100th year in business by choosing a combination of 12 charitable causes that include giving back to local community projects, national and local charities, including the likes of the Peoples Kitchen through CEO Sleepout, Billingham South Community Primary School, and The James Cook University Hospital. Each month the company is donating 100 much sought-after items including sleeping bags for the homeless, a £100 donation – which became £1000 – to Make a Wish Foundation and 100 food donations to animal charities.

Commenting on what Tomlinson Hall has named their 100 for 100 campaign, Colin added: “It was very important to us that – as part of our centenary celebrations – we did something that reflected the company’s commitment to charitable causes.  As such, we devised the 100 for 100 campaign which will see us donate everything from sleeping bags through to food parcels, sanitary products and financial contributions to charitable causes across the region.”

Operating from its facilities in Billingham comprising two workshops on its 1.5-acre site, Tomlinson Hall provides a full end to end service from pump selection, supply and site visits right through to servicing and repairs. The company works with leading businesses across Europe, the Middle East, North America, South America and Asia and is planning to enter these and other geographies more aggressively as part of its strategic growth plans.
