New capability helps manufacturers find, analyse, and visualise operational information using natural language.
MRPeasy has expanded its built-in AI assistant, Mr. Peasy, with the ability to answer questions using a manufacturer’s own operational data.
Users can now ask questions about inventory, production, orders, suppliers, and other business information directly inside MRPeasy and receive answers based on the data they are authorised to access.
The update moves Mr. Peasy beyond its original role as a software support assistant and into the role of an operations assistant. In addition to explaining MRPeasy features and workflows, it can now help users retrieve information, analyse data, and create tables, reports, and charts.
For example, a user could ask which items are below their critical stock level, request an overview of open orders, or ask Mr. Peasy to summarise and visualise a set of operational data.
Early adopters are already applying the new functionality to practical business questions.
Mark Wong of Acron Plastics, a plastics manufacturer from New Zealand, said:
“So far, I’ve used Mr. Peasy’s new capabilities to identify products that have been sold at the same price for the last 12 months, helping us make sure we review our pricing regularly as costs increase. Going forward, I can see uses ranging from identifying products sold below required margins to flagging materials that need ordering and analysing operational performance.”
Ymani Efunyale, founder of Philadelphian household cleaning products manufacturer Good Vibes Clean, said:
“One of the first ways I tested Mr. Peasy was by having him summarize my profit margins over the last 90 days. He summarized them and gave me a table that features every product I sell in my e-commerce store, breaking down profitability. I copied that report and pasted it into another AI app, which used that intel to help me decide which bundles to promote and which products to highlight for the coming holiday sales. I learned that my 32-oz bottles have much higher profit margins than my 16-oz sizes and would remain profitable even with deep discounts. Great information obtained from a very simple prompt. I look forward to exploring all the ways Mr. Peasy can help me in my business.”
The new capability is designed to help both experienced and occasional ERP users work with operational information more efficiently. It can also make it easier for new employees to find relevant data without first learning where every report, field, or filter is located.
Customer data access is optional and disabled by default. When enabled by an account administrator, Mr. Peasy operates in read-only mode and follows the same user permissions already configured in MRPeasy. It cannot create, edit, delete, or approve records.
MRPeasy has also introduced privacy safeguards around AI processing. Names of customers, suppliers, products, employees, and similar records are replaced with random identifiers before information is sent to the external AI service and restored before the answer is displayed to the user.
“I like that customer names are masked before the data is processed, which helps us protect client confidentiality,” Wong says.
Mr. Peasy is powered by Google Gemini through a commercial API license. Under the applicable Gemini API terms, prompts and responses are not used to train Google’s models or develop its products.
The update is part of MRPeasy’s broader effort to make manufacturing ERP software easier to use and to help small and medium-sized manufacturers get more value from the data they already collect.
