Some time ago Chemicals Northwest received an approach from Brabners Stuart and Brabners Chaffe Street. The initiative aims to pull together a group of people under the Chairmanship of Phil Browitt (former Managing Director of Agility Logistics Solutions Limited) to put a proposal together to look at ways of improving the chemical’s supply chain arena.
As a result of this approach a Steering Group has emerged which includes:
Phil Browitt Chainology
Steve Stuart Brabners Stuart
Denise Walker Brabners Chaffe Street
Helen Broom Ineos
John Roche Chemicals Northwest
Stuart Ross Chairman Food North West
Dong Li/Hossam Ismail University of Liverpool
Philip Mills Royal Bank of Scotland
Simon Reid Peel Ports
Matthew Miller Independent Director
The group have held preliminary discussions with Liverpool City Region LEP. They have received positive feedback that there could be ERDF or TSB support for a regional improvement project.
Other industries such as food, aerospace and advanced manufacturing have received support in the past.
The steering group have discussed holding a workshop, which will be the consolidation of issues into a discussion document that hopefully will form the basis for a project improvement bid.
In order for this document to be as wide ranging and effective as it can be, all members of Chemicals Northwest are encouraged to attend and participate in the supply chain workshop at The Heath later in the year, with the following aims:
- Learn what is new in the Chemical Supply Chain arena
- Input what you believe are the key supply chain issues you currently face
- Discover how other Industry Sectors have successfully improved efficiency for their members
- Influence North West Chemicals work groups to address the issues
- See case studies deriving business value through a sustainable approach
- Listen to a leading Bank explaining the current financial crisis and the role of private equity in the supply chain
The list of speakers is currently being put together and will be announced in the next few weeks.
If you are interested in supply chain issues then please put forward any views you may have by email to steve.stuart@brabnersstuart.com
Ultimately, the workshop will be geared up to ensure the beneficiaries are the members of Chemicals Northwest.
Further information on the workshop to follow.
