The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT UK) has announced the keynote speakers for its 2024 Annual Conference.

Taking place on September 19 at De Vere Beaumont, Windsor, the theme for this year’s conference is “Mastering Competitive Advantage”.

The conference aims to inspire, engage and motivate delegates, offering networking opportunities and a variety of expert speakers.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the core focus of the day with opportunities to gain insight from a mixture of content covering functional knowledge, soft skills and systematic frameworks.

Samantha Brocklehurst, Director of Customer Experience at conference headline sponsor Maersk, will be sharing insights into her extensive expertise in logistics and customer-centric strategies.

Other keynote speakers include Sarah Armstrong-Smith, Chief Security Adviser for Europe, Microsoft, and Michael Kosciukiewicz, Head of Supply Chain Development at popular fashion brand, Boohoo.

Sarah – whose extensive career has helped guide businesses through digital attacks and teaching organisations how to protect their data – focuses on cyber security for her presentation.

Specialising in disaster recovery and crisis management, Sarah is also a powerful advocate for female representation in STEM.

Michael is hosting a presentation on implementing automated processes; he is an accomplished senior leader with experience across the end-to-end supply chain of several global retailers including FMCG, general merchandise and apparel.

CILT UK CEO, Paul Adams, said, “Our speakers’ insight will undoubtedly inspire our attendees, driving forward the conversations that shape the future of our sector.

“This conference isn’t just an event; it’s a catalyst for progress and a testament to the collaborative spirit that defines CILT UK.”

The institute also announced that its Next Generation Chair and 35 under 35 delegate, is Kathryn Charman, Head of Supply Chain and Sustainability for Hydrogen Vehicle Systems (HVS).

Kathryn is particularly passionate about creating sustainable supply chains for the future.

She said, “When I was at university, we had a visit from the CILT, and one of the areas that always stood out to me was the ability the institute provided to meet other members with the same passions as me.

“As I have progressed through the first few years of my career, I have enjoyed this element massively.

“I have taken on a role working towards building a more sustainable future for our industry and this forum will provide a fantastic opportunity to spread this message.”

Speakers from Heathrow, Network Rail, BAE Systems, Green and Blacks, Zemo Partnership, Transport for London (TfL), Dawson Group, Aricia Ltd, WSP and First Bus also appear this year.

They will emphasise the critical importance of understanding and addressing rapid changes in the economy, environment, and society, as well as the complex factors that hinder inclusive growth and why they are more important than ever.
