Global pollution from microplastics is a serious concern, and growing with increased use of plastics that end up in waterways and the ocean. Using Raman for rapid identification of microplastics in the environment helps to understand their source and also their environmental impact. In this article Metrohm explore the use of portable Raman microscopy for the identification of microplastics recovered from surface estuary waters.
