CHEMUK 2026 once again provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with the industry, exchange ideas and discuss the regulatory developments shaping the future of chemicals management. For the Lisam UK team, it was two busy and rewarding days at the NEC, spent catching up with customers, meeting new organisations and having valuable conversations about the challenges businesses are navigating today.
Our stand welcomed a steady flow of visitors throughout the exhibition. Alongside demonstrating our software and discussing regulatory compliance, we wanted to create a welcoming space where people could stop for a conversation rather than simply pass by. Our fresh juice barista proved to be a real talking point, giving customers and prospective clients the opportunity to take a break, enjoy a refreshment and spend time discussing their compliance needs with the team.
A particular highlight was seeing our Regulatory Affairs Specialist, Eleanor Grimes, contribute to the conference programme across both days. On day one, Eleanor joined an expert panel chaired by Caroline Raine alongside Craig Thomason (DEKRA), Bill Atkinson (Solvents Industry Association) and Elaine McGavin (Chemical Business Association), discussing the ever-changing regulatory landscape, UK and EU alignment, and what these developments mean for businesses managing chemical compliance. The session generated thoughtful discussion around the practical realities of keeping pace with legislative change.
On day two, Eleanor delivered a presentation on the proposed revisions to the EU Detergents Regulation, exploring the introduction of Digital Product Passports, enhanced digital labelling requirements and the wider implications for industry. It was encouraging to see such strong engagement, with delegates keen to understand both the regulatory direction of travel and the practical steps organisations can take to prepare.
Perhaps our biggest takeaway from CHEMUK was the value of simply listening. The conversations we had throughout the two days offered genuine insight into the priorities, challenges and opportunities facing the industry today. We’d like to thank everyone who visited the Lisam UK stand, attended Eleanor’s sessions and took the time to share their experiences with us.
