Metrohm Launches 2060 TI Ex Proof Process Analyser for Hazardous Environments

Metrohm Process Analytics has announced the launch of the 2060 TI Ex Proof Process Analyser, a robust, explosion-proof solution designed for reliable wet chemistry measurements in hazardous industrial environments. Certified for ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas, the new analyser delivers near real-time process data while meeting the highest safety and compliance requirements.

Developed for applications where flammable gases, vapours or dust are present, the 2060 TI Ex Proof Process Analyser combines purge and pressurisation technology with intrinsically safe electronic components. This design prevents potentially explosive atmospheres from entering the analyser enclosure, enabling safe installation directly at the production line without the need for costly infrastructure or shelter purging.

Built for demanding process conditions

Housed in a dual-compartment, IP66-rated enclosure, the analyser ensures complete separation between electronics and wet parts. This allows routine maintenance and daily checks to be carried out without interrupting operation, supporting continuous plant uptime and improved operator safety. Heavy-duty pneumatic sample valves enable efficient handling of samples with varying temperatures, pressures and viscosities.

Flexible configuration and advanced software

The 2060 TI Ex Proof Process Analyser supports multiple analysis techniques within a single system and can be configured with up to two wet parts to monitor several parameters across multiple sample streams simultaneously. Custom preconditioning systems and protective shelters are also available for particularly challenging process conditions.

At the core of the system is Metrohm’s proprietary IMPACT software, which provides intuitive operation through configurable screens and time-based programming sheets. IMPACT delivers full-system diagnostics, proactive alarms, and encrypted, fully traceable data storage to ensure data integrity. Results can be seamlessly transferred to DCS and PLC systems, supporting Industry 4.0 initiatives and advanced process automation.

Supporting safer, smarter operations

By eliminating the need for manual sample collection, the 2060 TI Ex Proof Process Analyser helps improve plant safety while delivering consistent, high-quality analytical data. Typical applications include moisture determination in solvents and hydrocarbons, sodium hydroxide and chloride analysis in chemical and petrochemical processes, and monitoring of parameters such as ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, cyanide and peroxide in demanding industrial streams.

With its modular design, certified explosion protection and powerful software platform, the 2060 TI Ex Proof Process Analyser provides a future-ready solution for reliable process monitoring in hazardous environments.
